i4C Innovation

Trail, BC Best Immigrant Entrepreneur:
Nominee
Employees: 4 In Business Since: 2019

Pilar Portela (owner) has faced several challenges over the years, building her expertise and business network from scratch after moving to Canada from Latin America. She is a community leader that works together with government and local businesses, and sits in our city’s economic development board. She has long been involved with the BC-wide Latin America community and assists skilled new immigrants with moving their families and businesses to rural communities. She invests her time in high-tech projects that contribute to the greater good of the environment without ignoring the reality of local economics.

Pilar started i4C Innovation in April 2017, and helps connect technology focused SMEs to primary resource industries (forestry, mining, agriculture) and cities, with the intention to provide end to end solutions using the Industrial Internet of Things. i4C Innovation has acquired over $1 million in sales in its first two years and is projected to grow.
