We should be considered for the innovation category in terms of our impact in the arts, culture and history. We apply an innovative and collaborative approach to documenting Coast Salish (Snuneymuxw) history and legends from our father William Good, his and our brother Joel Good’s Traditional Coast Salish artwork, songs and Hul’q’minum language and share it through garment design, as mentored by our mother Sandra Moorhouse-Good. We combine all of these elements to create collections that are represented on the runway, offering an entire cultural experience in a current way. We record and present modern music, use advanced textile techniques and eco-friendly fabrics and combine with oral history, language and songs that carry our family traditions taught by our father who is a Storyteller, Master Artist, and cultural historian. We present in a relatable way for all people to enjoy and wear our clothing, thus being innovative in storytelling and culture sharing in our community and afar.
