We have chosen franchising as a way to expand. All systems are in place and scalable. Sales are increasing 25% yearly. We have gone from one clinic in 2008 to eleven today. Our goal is to double that number in the next 5 years. We have a loyalty program for employees called “hair miles”. 5% of revenue produced by an employee goes towards their training and a franchise fee so in the future they can own their own clinic. These employees work in corporate locations as well as locum in franchised locations. This mean our franchisees do not have upfront training costs or risk, instead they rent their staff from head office who absorb all the cost and risk. From a corporate stand point we felt we would have a stronger company with this process. We could chose employees based on character and not ability to pay with no ceiling on how far they could go in the company. Franchisees need not worry about employees not working out and clients get better treatment. It’s a win, win, win, win.
