Zero Ceiling Society of Canada was founded in 1997 in Whistler by Chris Winter, who was an athlete and guide. His big idea: Mountain experiences have the capacity to fuel empowered lives. From there, our VISION is to use adventure-based programs and training TO REDUCE YOUTH HOMELESSNESS & TRANSFORM LIVES. Our Adventure Sessions provide youth ages 16 to 24 with an often transformative break from their day-to-day challenges. These sessions showcase all that Whistler’s mountain life has to offer – snowboarding, skiing, biking, zip lining and more. And our WORK 2 LIVE program gives participants ages 19 to 24 a life-changing twelve month residency, that includes housing, employment, life skills, counseling, mentoring, community engagement and adventurous outdoor play. Participants use this program as a compass to rebuild and transform their lives, shifting their futures from streets to peaks.
