This year I went through the process of changing my license to group childcare this opening new spaces for infant and toddler care in Vancouver. I managed two rent increases and city inspections while operating without staff 50 hours per week. I worked day and night jumping hurtles and obstacles in order to get my approval of license so that I could staff 2 full time ECE’s. I did all this while, as a single parent homeschooling my 5th grader who has a learning disability. I accomplished the impossible this year. I am proud to offer 3 new infant toddler spaces in my wonderful daycare and to give full time employment that meets employment standards for the childcare industry to my staff. I worked hard in the Langara entrepreneurship program in 2016 with a mentor to create a philosophy around early years learning that allows parents the confidence they need to feel in order to conquer their own career goals after having children. Life can go on in a healthy and prosperous way.
