Libero Network Society

Langley, BC Best Community Impact:
Nominee
Employees: 1 In Business Since: 2010

I Founded Libero in 2010 (at the age of 21) when I shared my story online about my experience with an eating disorder, depression and self-harm. After years of struggle, I’d finally decided I was ready to reach out for help. As a writer, I wanted to share my story with others, so I wrote and posted it on my Facebook profile. My goal was to let others know they weren’t alone and they didn’t have to be ashamed of their struggles. The feeling that I was alone and the stigma surrounding mental health had held me back for years from reaching out for help. I didn’t want others to go through the same struggle. After sharing my story, it went viral and I began blogging. I connected with others who blogged about mental health and began developing an online mental health magazine and community.

Today we have around 10k in our community, dozens of volunteer contributors, and we’ve shared hundreds of articles and “FREE FROM” stories & photos on our site.

We are a registered nonprofit # S—0062089
