Focus Ability makes a significant contribution to the community by addressing the social issue of the difficulty for high functioning adults with Autism or other cognitive issues to find employment. Most of these individuals are fully capable of working but may lack the social skills to fit into a job situation. Focus Ability assesses, trains, and works individually with each client to help them enter the work force, come off social assistance, and achieve an independent life. Focus Ability also has a financial impact on the lives of these potentially successful employees who can now afford to live on their own, contributing to the economy and communities in which they decide to live. By eliminating the need for government assistance, the person is no longer a drain on the system, instead they can contribute their part to supporting the system that helped them get ahead. While the unemployment rate among special needs adults is about 80%, Focus Ability’s success rate is also 80%.
