Build a Biz Kids (BBK) has operated as a start-up Non-Profit in Vancouver’s Lower Mainland for 18 months. In that time, BBK has taught entrepreneurship to 130 children between the ages of 7yrs old and 12yrs old. Although BBK gives kids the real world experience of launching their first micro-business in the form of a pop-up shop market day in the general public, the real focus is on what students go on to do afterwards. The BBK programming is about empowering these children to believe in their ability to make a difference in their community and inspiring them to take action on their ideas. Students of BBK have raised over $3,000 for local charities, attended pitch competitions for humanitarian start-ups and have been recognized as official Childrens Charity fundraisers.
