Roch Fortin, owner of Maple Roch goes above and beyond to help all he meets achieve their highest self. He insists on ethical solid business of procuring product with fair trade practices, ensuring every maple craftsman family can provide a good living for their family and grow their maple business in New Brunswick. Through this practice, Maple Roch supports three families in New Brunswick. His sense of social justice led him to join the local Board of Directors of The Food Bank and Resource Centre. He helped pioneer an employment program to help those more vulnerable find opportunity for employment. In his business, he encourages workplace diversity, working with agencies to hire a student with autism and learning delay/difficulties providing an opportunity that could not have happened otherwise. Maple Roch donates to local minor sports teams, service groups, fundraising events. He is a friend to all and a well respected employer that is concerned about the well being of his employees. Roch encourages a culture of community not only to his employees, he also extends his business practice to other small companies that share the Maple Roch philosophy of excellence. He offers to sell and showcase other artisan’s products at the retail location in Summerland. Even offering production space to other entrepreneurs to package or label their product. From his example, Roch encourages his staff and customers to continually strive to connect people for a common purpose that promotes Summerland, The Okanagan Valley and BC to the world., Maple Roch is launching a new festival in Summerland in February 2018 from the ground up.
